Frequently Asked Questions

·      How long is a typical therapy session?

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length, however if you feel that you need additional time I am able to schedule our sessions for 90 minutes as well.

·      How often should I come to therapy?

It is strongly encouraged that we initially meet once a week until we establish goals and determine your individual needs. Once we’ve gained momentum in therapy we can determine if biweekly sessions are right for you.

·      How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Good question, the best way to know if I am the right fit for you is to come in for an initial session. You will typically know if a therapist is the right fit for you and your unique needs within the first two sessions. You can also visit my Psychology Today profile and social media.

·      Do you provide Telehealth or Face to Face sessions?

Currently I offer both. Due to the COVID 19 health crisis I understand that most people have varying degrees of concerns regarding exposure. Therefore, I leave it up to my clients to decide whether or not Face to Face sessions are right for them. Please note, if you are experiencing severe mental health symptoms you may want to consider in person therapy as your modality of treatment.

·      What are the advantages of Telehealth?

Many clients are utilizing telehealth to receive services as it offers them the comfort and convenience of receiving therapy from home. Telehealth has shown to be just as effective as in person sessions for many clients but it’s not right for everyone. Ultimately, the decision is up to you.

·      What can I expect from my first session?

Upon arrival at my office, you will be greeted by me and we will sit down and discuss what led to your decision to seek therapy as well as collaborate on your goals. I will gather information about your background in order to get a better idea of how I can help support you through your journey. We will discuss what you would like to see change in your life and brainstorm ways to get you to a place where you feel confident and able to live your life with purpose and solution. We will discuss qualities that are important to you in a therapist so that we can create a therapeutic relationship that is beneficial to your personal growth.

·      What can I expect in therapy?

Therapy is a time of self-reflection. My job is to ask you thought provoking questions to help you assess how your personal life experiences have shaped your response to the world around you. When we untangle the patterns that have not served you, we are able to create a plan for how to challenge old beliefs, create healthier boundaries, nurture our relationships, and manage our emotions in a way that is authentic. The goal is to live life with internal peace and fulfillment. Each client that walks through my door will receive their own individualized treatment plan so that they can realize their full potential.

·      How much does therapy cost?

Individual sessions cost $200 per clinical hour (50 minutes)

Couples/Family sessions cost $275 per clinical hour (50 minutes)

Payment is collected at the time service is provided.

·      Do you accept insurance?

I am currently credentialed with Cigna.

·      What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours’ notice of cancellation or you will need to pay for the full appointment fee. It is important to maintain consistency in therapy in order to achieve progress.

·      Do you prescribe Medications?

No, I am not a medical doctor and am not authorized to prescribe or make suggestions on what medication would be appropriate for you. If you feel that you need to consider medication management for your symptoms, I would be happy to help refer you to a psychiatrist.

·      Are there populations that you do not work with?

I work with clients ages 18+. I do not work with minors and/or active psychotic disorders (i.e. schizophrenia, schizoaffective, etc.). I am licensed in the state of Florida, New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Utah, Georgia, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
